Hooray....I finished another thing. A watercolour and ink painting. I am very pleased with myself for finishing it. I am going to see if I can make prints of it (it is A4 size) and add it to the other crafty things I am making in the hopes of having a market stall soon.
This is a watercolour I've started and for some reason these two girls keep appearing lately! My granddaughter wanted me to put in the little pixies so I did. I hope it works out ok. I'm never good at finishing things but I'll keep plodding away. It's very cold here at the moment so it's a good excuse to stay inside and paint.
This is what I entered into the Feeling Stitchy Rainbow of Colours Competition. I've never used a hoop before and I think the linen was unevenly stretched but I went ahead anyhow....I only had two colours of orange and probably should have drawn the design first, but it was fun to have a go. http://www.feelingstitchy.com/
This is the state of my dining room table at the moment. Just a bit chaotic. But hey, a bit of chaos never goes astray. Amazing what can turn up when you have to go searching for something. You find things you had forgotten you bought...you know, those sorts of items that you just had to have and were going to go home and use straight away!
I bought this little Elna Opal a couple of weeks ago. It's the first sewing machine I have ever purchased. I've had a loan of my mother-in-law's for a while but haven't ever really sewn much. So when I thought it would help with little craft projects I decided to go for something really simple. It only does running stitch and zigzag!! I'm still getting used to it.
Some french knots on the bottom of a little bear I made on the machine, but I'm so bad at sewing that I couldn't work out how to finish it off, and so I hand stitched along the bottom seam.
I don't know why she hasn't got any arms, I think it was too difficult. Hopefully the next one will be better!! It's a learning curve and that is supposed to be good for someone my age (grandmother age...but a young grandmother, really!)
